Ay dios mio! I have just forgotten about this blog. Well, no I haven't. I have just spent the last few forevers doing way to much working and way to much school work.
In about two weeks (if I get my ass in super gear) I will have a masters degree. I am so excited, but I am still not sure it is real. And, I am really not sure what to do with it when I have it. I guess look for another job. I guess. I don't know at all. At this point, I just want to keep my job (because at least I have one) and relax for a couple of months before I get really going on the job search.
I am hoping to find something in the teaching world. But, not kids. And not University. I want to go the community college route. I know that sounds weird. I think I am a bit of a slacker, and I would fit well in a community college. I am going to have to look somewhere other than Austin, I am sure. That is so sad. But, we will see where it goes. I am not thinking about it too much at this point.
Work has been work. I am a day person now! It is weird being alive during the day. It has been so long since I functioned as a daytime person. I actually like it a lot! I can get things done now. It's so weird. So far so good. I will see if that sticks.
Jody is back at home for the time being. It is so awesome. He was a bit wayward and antsy for a week or so, but he is back in Jody at home mode. I love having him around. Sure, it is a tad bit messier and the grocery bill goes up. But, I so love having him home. He will be doing some more local touring in another music project he has going on. But, that's cool because I am sure I can go with him. And we all know how much I love to watch him beat the hell out of some drums!
Gus is being a great little puppy dog. He is so cute. He really is. He hasn't quite gotten the handle of potty training just yet, but he's learning! He is super cute. He just loves Schneider who is coming around a bit. I guess he finally realized Gus is here to stay. I will post pictures when I take some! He is certainly in love with Jody. I am Mom, that's for sure. But, Jody...that's his boy! They are so cute together. I do love my man all covered in dogs! It's really cute. So, all is happy in that land. Oh, and Gus has the worst gas. Lordy mercy that dog can cut the cheese! But, again, it is cute as hell.
Nothing too much else is going on. I saw Bruno. Hilarious, though it was no Borat. But, it was freaking awesome! Harry Potter 6 was good. Nothing like the book, sure. But, I think it was the best movie thus far. I am not even going to discuss it because the "bookers" know what I am talking about, and the "moviers" probably don't care. I still want to see Away We Go. It looks really good. Maybe this week sometime. Also, I am behind on The Hangover. I can't believe I haven't seen it yet. Oh, we did go see 200 Motels a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome! Frank Zappa at his Frank Zappa-iest! You probably can't see it, as it was a special Alamo screening. But, rent it if you can. Take it for what it's worth. I liked it, so it isn't a Too Fast, Too Furious or even a Inglorious Basterdstype of movie. It's odd. But, I'd see it if I were you!
It's weird how I go to the movies five times in one month, then I don't go again for four months. I need to get some sort of normal regular movie viewing schedule. Of course, I am a super movie theater snob, and I will only go to the Alamo. In case of emergency, I will go to the Galaxy. But, I stick with the Alamo. So, sometimes it isn't so financially smart to go to the movie since it always ends up costing us way more because we always eat and drink and be merry once we are there!
Okay, I better get. I have work to do. Imagine that! I need a super duper vacation! For real. But, alas, it is not to be. Oh well. I'll live.
You see a guy with one leg, he's got a story. "Land mine '69." You see a guy with one arm, he's got a story, too. "Snow blower, bottle of whiskey." You see a guy with one tooth, what would the story be? "Well, uh, I like a lot of taffy."

Okay, I know all of you out there in interwebs world are just freaking out because I have not written on my blog is such a long time! I am sure you have spent countless nights wondering what I am up to! I know that I am that interesting and important to your lives.
But, alas I am still working like a fiend on finishing up this gosh darned masters degree that should wrap up in about a month. Holy shit. So, in the meantime, know that when I come back, I will fill you people in on the following subjects:
More new puppy
Harry Potter
Bruno
Jody's toe
New work hours
Granddad's death
Granddad's funeral
Seeing family I haven't seen in 20 years
My new addiction to even crappier TV
Masters degree bitching
The dentist
My stupid Steinbeck class (love Steinbeck, hate the class)
Even more new puppy
My love of Mandy for giving me the Shaft
Chicken sitting
The Sims 3
and
Whatever else I come up with.
See, I have stuff to say, just no time to say it.
Now...off to write more papers! Super fun!

I sure do like some sour news
One website that I love love love and am addicted to is Yelp. It is a site where people write reviews of local restaurants, clubs, bars, parks, dentists, everything you can freaking think of. I love Yelp.
But, what does this say about me? I only read the bad reviews. I don't care what the good ones have to say. For some reason, I only trust the bad ones. I will go to a restaurant even based on bad reviews. It's like the smelling of the bad milk thing. I just have to try it, too.
How fucked up is that? I wonder what that actually says about my person.

Oh, the week she has been a good one (until about 2 am last night).
So, I got to go to Houston to see Jody play. It was so much fun! I got to see Tam Tam, Mandy, Terra, D.G., and met fellow blogger Sublime Enigma (that's super fun to type).
It started out at Cactus Music where The Wooden Birds did an in store (and I got a great copy of the Xanadu soundtrack. I have it, but it is a mess after all the years of playing.). That was pretty rad. Then we went off to eat at Hickory Hollow (awesome for a vegetarian! Actually, the baked potatoes kick all ass.). Then it was to Walter's on Washington for the show. It was so fun! It was hot, but it was Houston hot. And, sadly, I miss Houston hot. I stayed hydrated, though. And it was a great show!
They played with a local band (whom I have no idea the name of, but they were pretty good.), and also a band called Other Lives that I highly recommend. Great band. Very eerie in a good way.
Then it was here for some Stubb's playing. It was freaking awesome. Really, watching your boyfriend perform in front of a few thousand people really does something for me. That's terrible, isn't it? Nah, it isn't. It was super hot, but a really cool show. And, I felt all cool hanging out backstage with the Octopus Project and Explosions in the Sky. You know, I'm hip like that. Hanging with the cool people!
The show went really well. They sounded great! I had a super good time.
And now, my hot stuff of a man is home! Hurray! The tour ended officially last night with a pizza party at Red House Pizza. Good pizza. Great people. Lots of dandy fun! I had a good old time.
In other news, we got a new puppy! His name is Gus Cornelius Levon Helm Suarez. He is so cute!
He is absolutely adorable. He is part Dachshund, half something that has a brindle coat. He is just sweet and happy and peppy and awesome. Jody loves the heck out of him. They are becoming best of buddies. Schneider, on the other hand, is feeling quite gypped in attention department. Of course, he has been an only child for so long. Also, he is getting tired of having this cute little thing wanting to play all the time. He'll get used to it!
Anyway, Gus is just so sweet, I can barely stand it. Really, he is. You have to see him!
And, until about 2 am (when the compressor on our AC went out), life was fancy and fun and great and awesome! Luckily, I am at work, so I have AC. I can't wait for Jody to wake up because it was about 84 when I left. We have so much luck with this house! I swear!
Oh, by the way, I am a daytime worker now! Hurray. I am no longer a zombie. Well, I still am. That will take a while to get rid of.
Okay, enough. It's been a pretty good week. I have gotten a lot of making out in. That's always a plus. I have a new dog and the boy back for the time being. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
